PRBC Church Family,

Although the uncertainty of this virus has caused anxiety in our schools, workplaces, and day-to-day activities, WE will continue to be wise and cautious and we WILL continue to follow Jesus.

Remember, we are called to be people of faith, not fear.

For God has not given us a spirit of timidity but of power and love and discipline.”  2 Timothy 1:7

In order to reduce the introduction of the virus into new communities and to slow the spread of infection, the CDC recommends that events of any size should be virtual when feasible; social gatherings should be limited and that we practice social distancing which is creating at least 6ft. between one another and to cancel all large gatherings.

We encourage you to join us online each Sunday to praise God and pray for guidance and healing through these challenging days. We will continue to be the church; we will simply have to do that differently for a while. With that said, Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church has taken the following measures to help reduce the spread:

  • Suspended all indoor gatherings at the church.
  • Stream our Bible Study and Sunday sermons to Facebook and our website (prbclansing.org).
  • Our Deacon Ministry makes wellness calls to our members on a regular basis.
  • Made sure our Text to Give and Electronic giving options are functional.
  • Provided a prayer request page on our website and mobile app.
  • Our Deacon number and new Care Counselors are available for prayer requests and discuss pertinent needs.
  • The Deacon for the week can be reached at 517-775-7503.
  • Our Care Counselors can be reached at 517-515-9838.
  • We will provide updates on a regular basis via our website, Facebook and Phone tree.

The Michigan Coronavirus Hotline may be reached at 1-888-535-6136, from 8 am to 5 pm daily for more info on COVID-19.

As your Pastor, I want to encourage you to stay calm, use wisdom and remain prayerful as we adhere to the guidance, for the Coronavirus, from the Center for Disease Control and Gov. Whitmer.

My brothers and sisters, there’s no need to fear. Remember these are the signs of the times of the return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Take this opportunity to share your faith by sharing the love of Jesus Christ with whoever you’re near and no matter what, trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he will direct your paths. The church leadership and I will continue to keep you updated on the latest developments regarding COVID-19. Remember the Lord is your strength and He will never leave you nor forsake you. I will see you online. God bless you.

Your Pastor,
Maurice Scruggs
