Coronavirus, PRBC, and you

Updated 03/20/2020

PRBC Church Family,

As you’d expect, we’re monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation as it continues to develop. We will do our best to change protocols and follow the advice of our government to prevent its spread and keep you safe.

The uncertainty of a new viral strain is causing anxiety in our schools, workplaces, and day-to-day activities. We must be wise and cautious, but we must continue to follow Jesus.

Please remember, we are called to be people of faith, not fear.

For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.”  2 Timothy 1:7

In an attempt to reduce the introduction of the virus into new communities and to slow the spread of infection, the CDC recommends that for the next 8 weeks, events of any size should be virtual when feasible; no social gatherings of 10 people or more and we should practice social distancing which is creating at least 6ft. between one another and to cancel all large gatherings.

With that said, Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church will – effective immediately:

Suspend gathering at the church for any reason.

Stream our Bible Study and Sunday sermons to Facebook and our website (prbclansing.org) starting tomorrow at 7 pm with our Wed Bible Study.

Our Deacon Ministry will make wellness calls to our members on a regular basis.

Make sure our Text to Give and Electronic giving options are functional.

Provide a prayer request page on our website.

Our Deacon number and new Care Counselors number will be used to request prayer and discuss pertinent needs.

The Deacon for the week can be reached at 517-775-7503.

Care Counselors, available immediately following Sunday’s worship service, can be reached at 517-515-9838.

Our Health Ministry will provide updates on a regular basis via our website, Facebook and Phone tree.

The Michigan Coronavirus Hotline may be reached at 1-888-535-6136, from 8 am to 5 pm daily for more info on COVID-19.

As your Pastor, I want to encourage you to stay calm, use wisdom and remain prayerful as we adhere to the guidance, for the Coronavirus, from the Center for Disease Control and Gov. Whitmer.

My brothers and sisters, there’s no need to fear. Remember these are the signs of the times of the return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Take this opportunity to share your faith by sharing the love of Jesus Christ with whoever you’re near and no matter what, trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he will direct your paths. The church leadership and I will continue to keep you updated on the latest developments regarding COVID-19. Remember the Lord is your strength and He will never leave you nor forsake you. I will see you online. God bless you.

Your Pastor,

Maurice Scruggs
